Raw Material Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Raw Material Technician will be expected to support and perform Raw Material Laboratory activities that relate to raw material testing for use in production; testing of all in-coming raw materials using USP and other approved methods, managing raw material sample flow, raw material standards, preventive maintenance and calibrations for all raw material testing equipment, investigations for out of specification results, communicating with the supervisor on out of specification results, and maintaining raw material laboratory note books, forms and LIMs. This individual will comply with corporate policies, procedures, and quality standards, as well as safety and environmental regulations. The RM technician must be familiar with using the following pieces of equipment: viscometer, pH meter, densitometer, potentiometric titrator, Karl Fischer, FT-IR, Conductivity meter, TOC Analyzer, HPLC and GC. The Raw Material Technician will perform routine laboratory testing, non-routine testing, and compendia testing independently and with minimal direction.

REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree; a minimum of 1-3 years of pharmaceutical or OTC industry raw material testing experience or equivalent combination of work and educational experience maybe considered. Experience in USP Pharmacopoeia testing is required. Experience in a regulated industry is required. Excellent communication and organization skills are required. Experience performing instrumental and wet chemistry testing including titrations, GC, FT-IR, UV and other raw material testing successfully is required. Understanding cGMPs is required.

This position will be based within Los Angeles, CA. This is a position available on 1st shift - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and 2nd shift 2:00 PM -11:00 PM. This position also requires that the candidate be able to work weekends and overtime as the business needs change.
